Most tide pools direct your eye to the vibrant diversity and drama within. I’m a case study, laying on my belly peering into the depths. But I’ve come across a pool with a focal point outside and beyond. Low tide on the morning of July 22, 2017 opened up access to a rarely visited tide pool. It’s not a secret pool, but it’s new to me. Tucked up on an elevated shelf inside a cave, it’s easy to miss. I worked my way inside until I lost confidence in the footing. When I turned I realized this is a tide pool with a view.

Fantastic! Love this view. But how do you step around the pool without crushing all the creatures clinging to its edges?
Good question. On one hand, these organisms are pretty tough; they get hammered by surf all the time. But on the other hand, a person can do some damage. I may have done some, I hope not much. Now that you asked, I’m going to be more aware next time I have a choice to make. I apologize for not getting back to you sooner, and I appreciate your question a lot.
Beautiful! 🙂
Unusual indeed. Don’t you just love “finds” like that. Makes getting out of bed in the morning a treat. 🙂
Certainly a beautifull capture. It creates emotions of exitement and relaxation in me.
Thank you so much for mentioning it. I agree completely. Now that you mention it, if I visit that pool again I hope I’ll take the time to let myself feel those feelings.
And what a beautiful view!
Thanks! Those rocks just offshore are probably the reason I didn’t stumble across this hidden pool sooner.
